Press release: Småland SaaS company oversubscribed at SEK 75 million valuation

Just as the pandemic broke out in 2021, serial entrepreneur Tobias Lindberg came up with tech company Digmi. The idea was born while he was waiting for his haircut at a local salon.

He decided he wanted to revolutionise the beauty industry. He wanted to change things for the better – not just for the hairdresser and their salon, but for all their customers too.

The dream was to develop something that would streamline and make everyday life easier for hairdressers everywhere.

– “Hairdressers love cutting, colouring and creating, and taking care of their customers. Generally speaking, they don’t want to deal with admin and technology,” says founder Tobias.

Three years after launch, the company has agreements with leading beauty brands, as well as several hundred customers in the hairdressing and beauty industry across both Sweden and Norway.

– “What’s happened over the past year is something we could never have dreamed of when we started,” says Tobias.

Digmi 2.0 is launching now, meaning customers won’t just be able to read magazines of their choice at their hairdresser’s – they’ll also be able to book new appointments, buy products available in store, and pay for everything. All directly from the salon chair.

The traditional salon till could now become a thing of the past, while the customer experience is elevated and efficiency rockets in a number of ways.

– “Together with our customers, we ran pilot projects throughout 2023 testing a number of new features that we’re now launching. Everyone who took part in the pilot has seen real value and results from the service, and has signed up for the upcoming launch.”

The company delivers a SaaS service that both independent salons and large chains can subscribe to. The offering includes digital tablets and unique software, meaning no hairdresser ever needs to worry about their system going down or things not working.

– “Our customers tell us they’re now paying a fraction of what they used to, while getting a service that always works and offers that give every one of their customers an even better experience during their visit,” says Joel, adding: “Hairdressers can also easily update customer profiles directly on the tablet, and our suppliers can offer customers deals.”

Digmi has just closed a funding round that was oversubscribed at a valuation of SEK 75 million.

– “We’re delighted that both our existing and new investors have such confidence in the company and its national and international expansion,” concludes Tobias, adding that the new capital will be used to fund continued strong growth.
